Reduce the Risk of Burns

1. Create a child-safe area at home.
Child free zone in kitchen area and child safe zone where hot utensils are out of reach.

2. Set rules of the home for caregivers.

3. Test the bath water before bathing the child.

4. Make sure dangerous cooking equipment is stored away.

5. Don’t hold the child while working in the kitchen.

Burns First Aid

Treat Burns

1. Don’t cover the burn with anything (no cloth, no butter, no cream).

2. Run tap water over the burn (if no tap, use a bucket or jug).

3. Quickly make your way to the nearest clinic or hospital.
